Automotive Injection Molds

H T Mould China Limited: Automotive Injection Molds Built on Focus and Global Quality

Since 2008 we have worked under a simple ethos—focus, expertise, integrity, excellence—in plastic injection tooling. We specialize in demanding, precision molds for international customers and have grown into an integrated partner for design, build, molding, and assembly—with deep experience in automotive plastics.

1. Built with Europe: Automotive as Our Global Foundation

Our history tracks the automotive supply chain. From the beginning, export programs for vehicle components anchored the business.

Meeting world-class expectations for T0 timing, dimensional tolerance, surface quality, and tool life forced us to build a complete, efficient, traceable automotive mold development system—from bumpers, IP, and door panels to engine-bay, connector, and fluid-route functional parts.

Years of collaboration have shown that H T Mould is not only a mold supplier, but also an engineering partner involved in early-stage product development for European OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. We are experienced with VDA, RPS, DIN, and global vehicle platforms such as EMP2 and CMF.

2. Core Processes: Four Automotive Specialties

We do not try to be everything; we concentrate on high-value, high-barrier processes that differentiate the offer.

1. Two-shot (two-color) molds

Lightweighting and styling drive two-shot tooling for lamps, decorative trim, HVAC outlets, shifters, and more. We build rotary, core-pull, and index sequences for hard/soft, clear/opaque, and multi-color combinations—with emphasis on shutoff reliability, thermal balance, and rotary accuracy to avoid flash, color bleed, and visible knit lines. Examples: two-shot light guides, soft-touch IP skins, dual-durometer armrests.

2. Overmolding

Overmolding integrates metal inserts, rigid substrates with soft grips, and wire-harness clips. For combinations such as PC+TPE, PA+silicone, and PBT+TPU we engineer shutoff and locating features to prevent offset inserts, bleed, or delamination. Applications include under-hood seals, harness boots, connector housings with integral seals, and steering-wheel switch modules.

3. Pilot and soft tools

New programs need fast proof of design and process. We supply simplified mold bases in pre-hardened steel or aluminum, typically in about 2–4 weeks, for tens to hundreds of sample shots—data that transfers cleanly into production tooling. European EV programs have used our pilot tools for charge-port doors, pack brackets, cooling fittings, and similar parts.

4. Technical crossover from medical and electronics molds

Medical molds (clean, flash-free, multi-cavity precision) and electronics molds (miniaturization, thin-wall, high gloss) raise the bar we apply to automotive—e.g. cavity finishes around Ra ≤0.1 μm and Cpk ≥1.33 expectations for airbag housings and sensor brackets; in-mold cutting and sequential valve control borrowed from consumer electronics for functional automotive components.

3. Full-Service Chain: Mold, Molding, and Assembly

Unlike mold-only shops, we offer mold build plus injection and assembly—one partner from steel to tested module.

Mold build: DFM, Moldflow, 3D design, five-axis CNC, EDM, wire EDM, fitting, and validation.

Molding: 80–1800 t fleet, engineering resins (PA6/66+GF, PBT, PC/ABS, PPS, PEEK, …) with mold temperature control, hot runners, and robots for stable SPC.

Assembly: Ultrasonic welding, heat staking, snap assembly, seal installation, and electrical test—delivering subassemblies that bypass extra supply-chain nodes.

Global Tier 1 customers value a single technical window instead of juggling separate mold, molder, and assembly suppliers.

4. Quality System: Integrity and Lean Execution

Metrology: CMM, vision systems, contour equipment, hardness, push-pull, and leak testers—from steel qualification to final part sign-off.

Tool life: Digital records for steel grade (e.g. 1.2343, 1.2344, S136), heat treatment, and maintenance. Export automotive programs often target 1M+ shots; gate design, cooling, and standardized wear parts support lifetime performance.

Transparency: Quotes spell out steel, hot-runner brand, and standard components; schedules are realistic. Long-term European accounts reflect that honesty.

5. Global Footprint

Europe remains a core market, but programs now span North America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East—for ICE, hybrid, and BEV platforms, including lightweight structural and thin-wall rigid alternatives.

We support remote development in English with STEP, IGES, CATIA exchanges, video reviews, and online tryout acceptance when travel is limited.

6. Why Partner with H T Mould for Automotive Plastics?

Proven export discipline: Not occasional export—sustained supply into major European OEM supply chains under audit.

Focused depth: Documented success in two-shot, overmolding, and pilot tooling—not a shallow “we do everything” catalog.

End-to-end option: Mold through assembly lowers total landed cost and interface risk.

Contract integrity: Materials, process, and dates as agreed—without silent substitutions or excuses.

Forward-looking craft: Medical- and electronics-grade standards applied where automotive programs need them.

From a small export-focused shop in 2008 to a global automotive plastics partner today, our belief is unchanged: earn trust with engineering, cross borders with quality. As powertrains and bodies evolve, we continue to supply precise, durable injection molds the industry can build on.
